A device for treating an aneurysm by releasing an implanted implant from adeliverysystem at a treatment site can include a braided implant attached to areleasing component thatcan be detachably engaged with a delivery tube and a pull wire. The releasingcomponent canengage the delivery tube in a compressed configuration via friction fit andcan disengage thedelivery tube by expanding to a released or deployed configuration. The pullwire can have anextending portion that can engage the releasing component and an elongatedportion that can bepulled to disengage the releasing component. The braided implant, onceimplanted, can bereleased from the delivery tube by disengaging the pull wire from thereleasing component anddisengaging the releasing component from the delivery tube.
