The present invention relates to an antibody, fragment or derivative thereof used as an antiretroviral drug for targeting a virus belonging to the W type human endogenous retrovirus (HERV-W), wherein said antibody, fragment or derivative thereof is a W type human endogenous retrovirus Virus outer membrane protein (HERV-W Env).
