The invention relates to 2,4,6-octatrienoic acid derivative compounds having general formula (I) (CH3-CH=CH-CH=CH-CH=CH-CO-O-)n-R (I) consisting of esters wherein n = 1, 2, 3 and wherein R is selected from alkyl, aryl or cycloalkyl of a polyol, phenol or phenolic acid or consisting of a salt wherein n = 1 and R = arginine, as active ingredients in a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition having a combined antioxidant activity against free radicals together with an anti- inflammatory action.La présente invention se rapporte à des composés dérivés de lacide 2,4,6-octatriènoïque de formule générale (I) (CH3-CH=CH-CH=CH-CH=CH-CO-O-)n-R (I) constituée desters dans laquelle n = 1, 2, 3 et dans laquelle R est choisi parmi un alkyle, un aryle ou un cycloalkyle dun polyol, dun phénol ou dun acide phénolique ou constituée dun sel dans lequel n = 1 et R = arginine, utilisés comme principes actifs dans une composition cosmétique ou pharmaceutique ayant une activité anti-oxydante à lencontre des radicaux libres combinée à une action anti-inflammatoire.
