PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate or improve problems arising between a matching layer having an array structure and a medium having a non-array structure as to an ultrasonic probe transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves.SOLUTION: A composite type matching layer 36 is provided between a first matching layer 14 and an acoustic lens 18 as an upper medium. The composite matching layer 36 comprises a lower layer 38 and an upper layer 40. The lower layer 38 comprises a plurality of matching elements 42, and the upper layer 40 is constituted as a horizontally continuous layer. The lower layer 38 and the upper layer 40 are substantially equal in actual impedance to each other, and a second matching layer 36 meets a 1/4-wavelength matching condition on the whole for the wavelength of an ultrasonic wave. A third matching layer etc., can be provided instead of the acoustic lens 18.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】超音波の送受波を行う超音波探触子において、アレイ構造をもった整合層と非アレイ構造をもった媒体との間で生じる問題を解消あるいは改善する。【解決手段】第1整合層14と上部媒体としての音響レンズ18との間に複合型整合層36が設けられる。複合型整合層36は下層38及び上層40で構成される。下層38は複数の整合素子42からなり、上層40は水平方向に連続した層として構成される。下層38における実際の音響インピーダンスと上層40における実際の音響インピーダンスとが実質的に同一であり、第2整合層36それ全体として超音波の波長に対する1/4波長整合条件を満たす。音響レンズ18に代えて第3整合層等を設けることも可能である。【選択図】図1
