The present utility model provides a control measure against wood destroying organism from the volatile oil of lemon scented gum (Corymbia citriodora). Disclosed herein is a volatile oil extract from Corybia citriodora and its methanol and the hexane fractions as a control measure against subterranean termites ( Coptotermes vastator Light), drywood termites (Cryptotemes dudleyi Banks) and powder-post beetles (Dinoderus minutus F.). Three major compounds were found to be effective against wood-destroying organisms: citronellol, citronella! and linalool.
