PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adaptively reduce a residual fundamental wave component generated after a detection process of a harmonic component in an ultrasonograph.SOLUTION: A unit 26 for reducing a residual fundamental wave component selectively applies a process for reducing the residual fundamental wave component to a detection signal output from a unit 24 for detecting a harmonic component. When the residual fundamental wave component is large relative to a secondary harmonic component in the detection signal, a process for suppressing the fundamental wave component is executed.
