PURPOSE: A heater unit for generating infrared rays and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form various shapes and to radiate infrared rays in a wide area by heating infrared ray heating coils arranged in a glass case. CONSTITUTION: A heater unit (10) for generating infrared rays comprises a glass case (20), side walls, and an accommodation room. The side walls are formed on the bottom edge of the glass case to form the accommodation room in which one side thereof is open. Guiding rods (24) are installed on the bottom at a constant interval. Infrared ray heating coils (30) are arranged zigzag using the guiding rods. A connection terminal (31) formed on both ends of the infrared ray heating coils is drawn to the outside of the side walls. The glass case and cover are fixed in a vacuum state by vacuumizing and heat-treating the inside of the accommodation room after spraying glass frit on the junction of the side walls and covering the junction with a cover (40).본 발명은 적외선이 방출되는 히터 유닛(unit)을 구성하되, 히터 유닛에 설치된 적외선 발생코일을 지그재그로 설치, 넓은 면적으로 구성되게 하여, 방사되는 적외선이 넓은 면적으로부터 방출되게 함과 동시에, 히터 유닛을 구성하는 유리케이스 내에 진공화작업이 간단하게 이루어질 수 있게 함으로서, 제작비용을 현저히 줄일 수 있게 함은 물론, 다양한 모양의 제품을 제조할 수 있게 한 것이다.상기 과제를 해결하기 위한 수단으로서 본 발명은 일측이 개방된 판상의 유리케이스 수장실 내에 적외선 발생코일을 넓은 면적이 되게 지그재그로 배열하되, 적외선 발생코일 양측 단부에 구성된 접속단자는 측벽에 구성된 절개홈을 통하여 외부로 인출되게 하고, 유리케이스의 접합면 및 절개홈에 글라스프릿(Glass frit)을 뿌린 다음 덮개를 덮고, 진공열처리로에 투입, 진공화한 다음 열처리하여 유리케이스와 덮개가 융착되게 함으로서, 수장실에 배열된 적외선 발생코일이 진공상태에서 발열, 적외선이 방출되게 한 것이다.
