The instrument has a shank (4) that is bendable in one section, and an endoscope head (8) that forms a distal end of the shank. Distal side interfaces of the instrument are arranged in the endoscope head. The endoscope head is designed as one piece from an electroactive polymer. A set of electrodes is arranged in the endoscope head, where the electrodes are subjected to electrical voltage. A force sensor is arranged in the endoscope head, where the force sensor is embedded into electroactive polymer. The electrodes are connected to control leads.
