PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism capable of acquiring information representing depolarization properties of a subject's eye by a simple configuration and processing.SOLUTION: An ophthalmic photographing apparatus includes: a fiber coupler 128 that, after light exited from a light source 101 is branched into measurement light and reference light, multiplexes return light and the reference light to acquire interference light, the return light obtained by applying the measurement light to a subject's eye E; polarization adjustment part 170 for adjusting a polarization state of the reference light; and a CPU 143 that, when the polarization state is adjusted by the polarization adjustment part 170 to a first polarization state that is so adjusted that the polarization state of the return light matches the polarization state of the reference light, and a second polarization state that is so adjusted that the polarization state of the return light is different from the polarization state of the reference light, acquires information that represents the depolarization properties of the subject's eye E according to change in intensity of first interference light, the interference light obtained in the first polarization state, and intensity of second interference light, the interference light obtained in the second polarization state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】簡易な構成及び処理で、被検眼の偏光解消性を示す情報を取得することが可能な仕組みを提供する。【解決手段】光源101から出射された光が測定光と参照光とに分岐された後、測定光を被検眼Eに照射して得られる戻り光と参照光とを合波して干渉光を得るファイバーカプラ128と、参照光の偏光状態を調整する偏光調整部170と、偏光調整部170によって、戻り光の偏光状態と参照光の偏光状態とが一致するように調整された第1の偏光状態と、戻り光の偏光状態と参照光の偏光状態とが異なるように調整された第2の偏光状態とになされた場合に、第1の偏光状態で得られた干渉光である第1の干渉光の強度と、第2の偏光状態で得られた干渉光である第2の干渉光の強度との変化に応じて、被検眼Eの偏光解消性を示す情報を取得するCPU143を備える。【選択図】図1
