PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition and a nutritious food composition based on novel application and efficacy of high-safety compound abscisic acid derived from plant hormone.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition and a nutritious food composition contain abscisic acid being a type of plant hormone expressed by the following formula and/or salt thereof. The composition is useful for treatment of prostatic hyperplasia, reduction of a blood triglyceride value, reduction of a blood sugar level, weight gain after birth of a new-born child, improvement in a survival rate after birth of a new-born child, improvement of immune function, suppression of spleen swallowing, and treatment of attention deficit disorder. The composition is also useful as a component of the food nutritious composition. Effective dose of medicine is approximately 0.1 to approximately 1000 mg/kg/day, preferably approximately 10 to approximately 1000 mg/kg/day, and more preferably approximately 50 to approximately 200 mg/kg/day.SELECTED DRAWING: None【課題】植物ホルモン由来の安全性の高い化合物アブシジン酸の新規用途、効能に基づく医薬組成物及び栄養食品組成物の提供。【解決手段】下式で表される植物ホルモンの一種であるアブシジン酸及び／又はその塩を含む、医薬組成物及び栄養食品組成物。該組成物は、前立腺肥大の治療、血中トリグリセリド値の低下、血糖値の低下、出生児の生後体重増加、出生児の生後生存率の向上、免疫機能の向上、脾臓の増大抑制、注意欠陥障害の治療に有用。食品栄養組成物の成分にも有用。約０．１～約１０００ｍｇ／ｋｇ／日、好ましくは約１０～約１０００ｍｇ／ｋｇ／日、特に好ましくは約５０～約２００ｍｇ／ｋｇ／日が有効量である、薬剤。【選択図】なし
