A surgical procedure instrument and drive device thereof, capable of being power-driven and hand-driven to reduce the risk of surgical procedure failure, and provide a flexible operation mode for a surgeon; the drive device comprises a motor (13), a planet gear reducer (14), and a bi-directional ratchet mechanism; the input sun wheel (15) of the planet gear reducer (14) is in a transmission connection with the output shaft of the motor (13), and the output planet carrier (16) of the planet gear reducer (14) is in a transmission connection with the actuating mechanism of the surgical procedure instrument via a transmission mechanism; the bi-directional ratchet mechanism comprises a ratchet (20), a bi-directional detent assembly, and a stopping mechanism; the ratchet (20) is fixedly connected to a gear ring (17) of the planet gear reducer (14); the bi-directional detent assembly comprises a bi-directional detent (21); the stopping mechanism selectively drives a first locking end (22) or a second locking end (23) of the bi-directional detent (21) to lock the ratchet (20), thus locking the corresponding rotation of the ratchet (20) when the motor (13) provides drive power via the planet gear reducer (14), and not locking the corresponding rotation of the ratchet (20) when the transmission mechanism drives the planet gear reducer (14).
