PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of adjusting the tension of a tugging member and capable of making it hard to apply loads to the tugging member when a tugging mechanism is activated.SOLUTION: An endoscope includes an insertion section, an operation input section, a tugging member, a tugging mechanism and a coupling mechanism. The insertion section includes a distal end hard part, and a bending section which can be bent in a plurality of directions. One end of the tugging member is coupled to the distal end hard part or bending section, and the other end is extended toward the operation input section. The tugging mechanism can tug one end of the tugging member according to the input of operation of the operation input section. The coupling mechanism is disposed between the other end of the tugging member and the tugging mechanism. The coupling mechanism has a slider mechanism to relatively move the other end of the tugging member and the tugging mechanism in the axial direction of the tugging member.
