The present invention relates to a method and medicament of using plasminogen to prevent or treat joint diseases. The present invention proves that plasminogen can improve structural integrity of a joint, enhances activity of local osteoblast of a joint and/or reduce the activity of osteoclast, promotes cartilage regeneration and bone reconstruction of subchondral bone, and effectively relieves pain and other symptoms.
