Support stocking made substantially of elastic material for therapeutic compression with an upper end which comprises one or more hooking provisions for manual pulling on of the support stocking, and preferably comprises two hooking provisions. A support stocking is more preferably of a type which produces therapeutic compression for the lower leg over the area between the knee and the foot, wherein the support stocking does not comprise a foot portion and thus has an open outer end on the upper side and underside.
