Disclosed are a granule and a granulate containing metam and/or an oxidized form of metam capable of generating methyl isothiocyanate, wherein the granule has a diameter of 200 to 10,000 µm, and contains the active ingredient in a concentration of at least 75% when the active ingredient is metam and at least 50% when the active ingredient is the oxidized form of metam, and whereby the envelope volume of the granule represents at least 60.0% of the volume occupied by a sphere having as diameter the particle diameter of the granule.
