A method comprises providing a solution containing a dye or a dye mixture, ultrasonicating the solution to reduce the average size of aggregates of the dye or dye mixture contained in the solution, and incorporating the dye or the dye mixture in the optical path of a device that transmits light. The method comprises incorporating the dye or the dye mixture in the optical path of the device, and the dye or dye mixture selectively filters at least one wavelength of light within the range of 400 nm to 500 nm. The incorporating step comprises applying a coating formulation to selectively inhibit visible light in a selected range of visible wavelengths. The device having the dye mixture incorporated therein has an average transmission of at least 80% across the visible spectrum. The method further comprises machining a first surface of the ophthalmic lens and polishing the first surface.L'invention porte sur un procédé qui consiste à former une solution contenant un colorant ou un mélange de colorants, à soumettre ladite solution à une ultrasonication afin de réduire la taille moyenne des agrégats de colorant ou de mélange de colorants contenus dans la solution, et à incorporer le colorant ou le mélange de colorants dans la trajectoire optique d'un dispositif qui transmet la lumière. Selon le procédé précité, on incorpore le colorant ou le mélange de colorants dans la trajectoire optique du dispositif, ledit colorant ou mélange de colorants filtrant sélectivement au moins une longueur d'onde lumineuse dans la plage comprise entre 400 nm et 500 nm. L'incorporation s'effectue par application d'une formulation de revêtement destinée à inhiber sélectivement la lumière visible dans une plage de longueurs d'onde visibles sélectionnée. Le dispositif dans lequel le mélange de colorants est incorporé possède une transmission moyenne d'au moins 80% dans le spectre visible. Le procédé consiste également à usiner et à polir une première surface d'une lentille ophtalmique.
