PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing melitin ingredients is provided to treat liver diseases.CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating liver diseases contains 0.001-0.05 wt% of melittin as an active ingredient. Mellitin is isolated from honey bee-derived bee venom. The composition additionally contains pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Mellitin reduces inflammation-inducing cytokine expression in a liver tissue.
