The present invention discloses medical compositions and devices made with compositions for the delivery of extracts obtained in Boswellia, similar compounds prepared synthetically, and in particular derivatives of triterpene. The medical device may be implantable, or alternatively may be a device in contact with the mammalian body. The medical device may provide or include an absorbable component, or an eluting component, containing a boswellia derivative.
