The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating an allergic respiratory disease including an extract of sea cucumber as an active ingredient. The extract of sea cucumber according to the present invention has excellent immunoregulatory effects of suppressing infiltration of immune cells, e.g. eosinophil, by the penetration to nasal mucous membranes and lungs and improving allergic symptoms and also, suppressing a Th2 immune response in an airway cleansing solution and in a lymphocytes around pulmonary tissues, thus being useful as medicines or foods for the prevention or treatment of allergic respiratory diseases including asthma.본 발명은 해삼 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 알레르기성 호흡기 질환 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 해삼 추출물은 비강 점막 및 폐에 침투하여 호산구와 같은 면역세포의 침윤을 억제하고 알레르기 증상을 호전시키며, 기도세척액 및 폐 조직 주변 임파구 내 Th2 면역반응을 억제하는 등 면역 조절 효과가 우수한바, 천식을 비롯한 알레르기성 호흡기 질환의 예방 또는 치료를 위한 의약품 또는 식품으로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
