The present invention refers to a method for treating the infection specifically caused by dengue virus DENV in its 4 known serotypes by the administration of Vitamin D3 (VD3), due to its anti-DENV properties, and compounds analogues to VD3, the invention also referring to the pharmaceutical formulations anti-DENV containing vitamin VD3 as an active agent, these may be combined or not with further therapeutic agents the invention also refers to the therapeutic doses of VD3 for inhibiting the incipient infection caused by the dengue virus, and for inhibiting the progression of said infection to severe forms, also being useful as a prophylactic treatment in populations susceptible to the infection by DENV.La presente invención se refiere al tratamiento de la infección ocasionada específicamente por el virus del dengue DENV de cualquiera de sus 4 serotipos conocidos, mediante la administración de la vitamina D3 (VD3), por sus propiedades anti-DENV, así como de compuestos análogos a la VD3, la invención se refiere también a las formulaciones farmacéuticas anti-DENV que contengan a la VD3 como el agente activo solas o combinadas con otros agentes terapéuticos y se refiere también a las dosis de VD3 terapéuticas tanto para inhibir la incipiente infección por el virus del dengue, como para inhibir la progresión de dicha infección a formas severas y como tratamiento profiláctico en poblaciones susceptibles a la infección por DENV.
