PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument which has favorable operability of an operating wire, and has a sufficiently reinforced structure around the operating wire.SOLUTION: A medical instrument (for example, a catheter 10) comprises: a medical instrument body (sheath 16) a sub-lumen 30 disposed inside the medical instrument body so as to extend in a lengthwise direction of the medical instrument body an operating wire 40 inserted into the sub-lumen 30 and extending along the lengthwise direction of the medical instrument body and a tubular first reinforcing layer 50 and second reinforcing layer 51. The second reinforcing layer 51 is disposed at a distance from the first reinforcing layer 50 so as to surround the periphery of the first reinforcing layer 50, and a part of the resin constituting the medical instrument body fills the space between the first reinforcing layer 50 and the second reinforcing layer 51.
