[Solution] An absorber (4) includes: low-basis-weight sections (10) that have a relatively low basis weight, and are formed from parallel lines in a given direction and parallel lines in a direction intersecting said given direction and high-basis-weight sections (11) that have a relatively high basis weight, and are formed into a block configuration in areas defined by the low-basis-weight sections (10). Recessed grooves (12) obtained by compressing the absorber (4) in the thickness direction are formed in a continuous planar pattern that passes through the high-basis-weight sections (11). The low-basis-weight sections (10) are arranged in a grid configuration so as to be formed in a plurality extending in the lengthwise direction of a sanitary napkin (1) and spaced in the widthwise direction of the sanitary napkin (1), as well as formed in a plurality extending in the widthwise direction of the sanitary napkin (1) and spaced in the lengthwise direction of the sanitary napkin (1).
