The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating gastroesophageal reflux disease and to a food composition for preventing or treating gastroesophageal flux disease, which contain chlorogenic acid, the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, or derivatives thereof. The present invention also relates to a method for preventing or treating gastroesophageal reflux disease comprising a step of administrating said pharmaceutical composition to an entity, and to the use of chlorogenic acid, the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, or derivatives thereof.
