A releasable sleeve extends around the expandable stent graft to constrain the expandable stent graft toward the collapsed configuration. The sleeve is held together by a coupling member to constrain the expandable device in a collapsed configuration for intraluminal delivery to the vascular treatment site. The sleeve can be opened by moving the coupling member away from the sleeve so that the expandable device can be expanded outwardly toward the expanded configuration. The sleeve is separate from the expandable device to allow removal from the vascular treatment site after expansion of the expandable device.
