The transmission and reception unit performs, via an ultrasound probe, a first ultrasound scan for a first region within a subject injected with a contrast medium and a second ultrasound scan, including transmitting and receiving each of two ultrasound waves with at least one of amplitude and phase different from each other, for at least a portion of a second region overlapping the first region within the subject.
