To provide a device which enables transmission and reception of ultrasound to and from the whole circumference of a subject while restraining the movement of the subject by a simple operation.SOLUTION: An ultrasound transmission/reception device includes: a transducer array in which transducers to transmit and receive ultrasound are arrayed； a fixing tool arranged between the transducer array and a subject to retain the subject； and a drive mechanism for pressing at least a portion of the fixing tool against the subject to retain the subject. The ultrasound transmitted from the transducer array passes through the fixing tool for projection onto the subject.
