A medical manipulator includes an insertion portion having a bending portion on a distal end side of the insertion portion, an end effector disposed at a distal end portion of the insertion portion, a first drive portion disposed at a proximal end portion of the insertion portion, a power transmission member connecting the first drive portion with the bending portion and having flexibility, a second drive portion disposed between the first drive portion and the bending portion and connected to the power transmission member to transmit a drive force to the power transmission member, and a transmission blocking member disposed to act on a portion of the power transmission member which is located between the first drive portion and the second drive portion and configured to block power transmission from the first drive portion to the second drive portion by the power transmission member.
