PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus in which sound is dispersed and the sound heard by a subject is reduced in a gantry of a substantially cylindrical-shaped magnetic resonance imaging apparatus.
SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: a magnetostatic field generating means for generating a uniform magnetostatic field in a space accommodating the subject a gradient magnetic field generating means for generating a gradient magnetic field by superposing the magnetostatic field on the magnetostatic field a high frequency coil for generating a high frequency magnetic field applied to the subject a cover to cover the magnetostatic field generating means, the gradient magnetic field generating means, and the high frequency coil, and a convex or a concave in a face facing the subject inside the cover.
