PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification method of a compound useful as an anti-infective agent that decreases resistance, virulence or growth of microbes.SOLUTION: A microbial cell including (1) a selectable marker under the control of a transcription factor responsive sequence and (2) a transcription factor is brought into contact with a compound under conditions which allow interaction of the compound with the microbial cell, and the ability of the compound to affect the growth or survival of the microbial cell is measured as an indication of whether the test compound modulates the activity of the transcription factor.【課題】微生物の耐性、病原性、または増殖を低下させる抗感染剤として有用な化合物の同定法の提供。【解決手段】1）転写因子応答配列制御下の選択マーカーと、2）転写因子とを含む微生物細胞を、化合物と微生物細胞との相互作用を可能にする条件下で化合物と接触させ、該試験化合物が転写因子の活性を調節するかどうかの指標として、化合物が微生物細胞の増殖または生存に影響を与える能力を測定する。【選択図】なし
