PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device to apply tension to a single suture.SOLUTION: The device and the method are for adding tension to a single suture. In one embodiment, a suture tensioning device comprising a shaft and a suture grasping member is provided. A knotting element is composed to be detachably connectable to a far end of the shaft to receive the suture, and lock the suture, so it is engaged with the suture. A suture grasping member is movably connectable to the shaft to grasp the suture, so that it is inserted to the knotting element to be pulled.
