PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assessing susceptibility to age-related macular degeneration (AMD) development in a subject using as an index whether the genome of the subject encodes a certain haplotype in the gene of complement factor H (CFH) or not, which haplotype relates to reduced susceptibility to AMD development.SOLUTION: The method comprises a step of determining whether a sequence encoding isoleucine at position 62 of CFH protein is present or not at rs800292, a polymorphism site of a specified sequence of the subject genome, wherein the presence of a certain haplotype shows that the subject has a reduced sensitivity to the development of AMD.【課題】被験体における加齢性黄斑変性（ＡＭＤ）の発症に対する感受性の指標として、被験体のゲノムが、ＡＭＤの発症に対する感受性の減少と関連した補体Ｈ因子（ＣＦＨ）遺伝子におけるハプロタイプをコードするか否かを使用する方法の提供。【解決手段】ＣＦＨタンパク質の６２位にイソロイシンをコードする配列が、被験体ゲノムの特定配列の多型部位ｒｓ８００２９２に存在するか否かを決定する工程を包含し、ここで、ハプロタイプの存在は、被験体がＡＭＤの発症に対して減少した感受性を有することを示す方法。【選択図】なし
