The present invention relates to a composition for controlling plant diseases comprising niclosamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, as an active ingredient, to a method for controlling plant diseases comprising a step of inhibiting growth of pathogenic bacteria by treating the composition to the plant, and to a plant disease controlling agent comprising the composition. The composition for controlling plant diseases comprising niclosamide as an active ingredient of the present invention are effective in controlling bacterial leaf blight of rice, and thus being useful in the productivity improvement of rice.본 발명은 니클로사미드(niclosamide) 또는 이의 농약학적으로 허용가능한 염을 유효성분으로 포함하는 식물병 방제용 조성물, 상기 조성물을 식물체에 처리하여 병원성 세균의 증식을 저해하는 단계를 포함하는 식물병 방제 방법 및 상기 조성물을 포함하는 식물병 방제제에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 니클로사미드를 유효성분으로 포함하는 식물병 방제용 조성물은 벼 흰잎마름병을 방제하는데 효과적이므로, 벼의 생산력 향상에 유용할 것으로 사료된다.
