The hedge cutters are provided with front and rear handgrips (4, 5) with respective operating elements acting on at least one electric switch (19), controlling the operation of the hedge cutters. The rear handgrip is attached to the housing of the hedge cutters via a coupling element in the form of a grip element (7), engaged by the hand of the operator to act on an operating element (10) for the electric switch. Pref. the grip element is angled at between 10 and 30 degrees relative to the cutter blades (3).
