PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire capable of improving torque transmission properties and allowing an operator to easily shape the guide wire tip up to a forefront part.SOLUTION: A guide wire 10 includes a core wire 20, and a coil member 30 fitted to the outer circumference of the core wire 20. A tip 23 of the core wire 20 and a tip of the coil member 30 are fixed to each other via a tip fixing part 35. A shaping wire 40 having a shape restoration property that, when being deformed, is returned to its original shape, inferior to that of the core wire 20, is disposed at a tip-side outer circumference of the core wire 20 and inside of the coil member 30.
