The present invention relates generally to the treatment of CYR61 and VEGF mediated conditions, and in particular to the treatment of such conditions by administering a CYR61 downregulator to an individual. In one embodiment, the invention is a method of treating a CYR61-mediated condition in an individual in need of such treatment, wherein an effective amount of at least one CYR61 downregulator (CYR61DR) is administered to the individual.
