Disclosed is a process for producing a plant, plant seed or progeny thereof, the process comprising: transforming a plant cell with a heterologous nucleic acid encoding a Snf1-related protein kinase 2-6 protein (SnRK2-6 protein), wherein the nucleic acid encoding the SnRK2-6 protein comprises the nucleotide sequence according to SEQ ID NO: 3 or a nucleotide sequence that is at least 85% identical to the sequence according to SEQ ID NO: 3 growing a plant from the plant cell until the plant produces seed and harvesting the seed from the plant.
