PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resveratrol-containing composition and a method of use.SOLUTION: A resveratrol-containing composition can provide a therapeutic benefit to a subject such as modulation of biological activity, improving cell transplantation therapy, or improving treatment for macular degeneration or dystrophy treatment. The composition comprises trans-resveratrol, a metal chelator, and one or more additional antioxidants such as phenolic antioxidants or vitamin D. A method of modulating biological activity in a human subject comprises a step of administering to a human subject in need of modulating the biological activity, the composition comprising the trans-resveratrol in an amount of 0.25 to 5 mg per kilogram of the human subject, the metal chelating agent, and the one or more additional antioxidants.
