PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a degree of visibility judging apparatus capable of quantitatively evaluating the degree of visibility on "the range and extent of visibility of a person" concerning an object in his/her visual field.
SOLUTION: The degree of visibility judging apparatus includes: a photographing part 102 for photographing the image of the person a photographing part 107 for photographing the in-visual field image of the person a face detecting part 103 for detecting the facial area of the person, based on the image of the person an visual line detecting part 104 for detecting the visual line direction of the person, based on the facial area a degree of visibility distribution database 105 for storing degree of visibility distribution data expressing distribution of the degree of visibility of the object in the visual field a degree of visibility distribution generating part 106 for generating the distribution of degree of visibility of the object in the visual field of the person in the in-visual field image through the use of the visual line direction of the person and the degree of visibility distribution data and a degree of visibility judging part 111 for calculating the degree of visibility of the object, which is detected from the in-visual field image, through the use of the degree of visibility distribution.
