Beschrieben ist ein Flechtkopfaggregat zur Herstellung einer Kugelgeflechtstruktur, vorzugsweise eines medizinisches Occlusioninstrumentes, wobei das Flechtkopfaggregat in Kombination einen Flechtkopf (11), eine Flechtkrone für das Kugelgeflecht, und Formelemente (15) für das Kugelgeflecht umfasst. Der Flechtkopf (11) weist ein erstes Ende auf, welches proximal der Flechtkrone angeordnet ist, sowei ein entgegengesetztes zweites Ende. Das erste Ende ist am Umfang in einer Richtung vom ersten Ende zum zweiten Ende gebogen oder abgerundet. Desweiteren ist eine Rundflechtmaschine zur Herstellung einer Kugelgeflechtstruktur aus Drähten beschrieben, wobei die Rundflechtmaschine ein solches Flechtkopfaggregat aufweist.An occlusion device is made by weaving fine wires into two retention profiles, one distal and one proximal, linked by a cylindrical section and with the ends of the wires gathered at one side of the distal profile. The proximal end of the device presents a totally closed profile for positioning inside the body vessel, e.g. as a stent. The wire weave is shaped and is secured by heat treatment with a selected profile for the proximal end. Suitable wires include memory alloys.
