The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing, as an active ingredient, a Sophora japonica L. extract, for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders and improvement of cognitive functions. Particularly, it was confirmed that the Sophora japonica L. extract, according to the present invention, has a significant effect in an Alzheimers Disease-causing mouse model, through a Y-maze test and a Morris water maze test, thereby confirming that the Sophora japonica L. extract could be useful as an active ingredient in the pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders and the improvement of cognitive functions.La présente invention concerne une composition pharmaceutique contenant, en tant que principe actif, un extrait de Sophora japonica L., pour la prévention et le traitement de troubles neurodégénératifs et lamélioration des fonctions cognitives.
