Device for collecting tissue from an animal comprising collecting means having at least one cutting element 21 designed to cut out a sample 53 of tissue from the animal, and means for storing the sample 53. The collecting means also include a push element 23 that is mobile relatively to the cutting element 21, enabling the sample 53 to be pushed into the storage means after it has been cut out by the cutting element 21. The storage means comprises a sample tube and a tube top piece. The tube top piece form a support configured for acting as a stop surface of the cutting element 21 to cut the sample 53, and also comprise an aperture that allows at least one part of the push element 23 to be inserted into the storage means.
