TITLE: PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATION EXHIBITING FASTER, SAFER, AND SMOOTHER RECOVERY FROM ANAESTHESIA APPLICANT: SRI RAMACHANDRA UNVIERSITY ABSTRACT The present invention relates to novel drug formulation that can act as an antidote to sleep and also made recovery from anaesthesia faster, safer, and smoother. The novel formulation of the present invention comprises of clematis along with atleast one component selected from the group comprising of star of Bethlehem, ferrous phos, cherry plum, Rock rose and other ingredients of rescue remedy. The efficacy of the formulation is revealed through recovery of the mice administered with anesthesia much faster. The smooth recovery component is iterated by the fact that in the C. elegans system, the formulation does not allow indiscriminate increase in acetylcholine concentration at the neuromuscular junction when acetylcholine esterase was inhibited chemically. Further, the initial formulation showed exclusive action through increase in acetylcholine release in the primary neuronal cultures. Moreover, these preparations are non-toxic in the in vitro mammalian mixed neuronal cultures, and in vivo, both in C. elegans and mice.
