PURPOSE: A method for removing pigment from Centipede grass extract is provided to maintain antioxidation, skin whitening, and anti-wrinkling activities. CONSTITUTION: A Centipede grass extract having constant physiological activity without pigment is prepared by irradiating radiation to Centipede grass extract. The Centipede grass extract is isolated using water, alcohol, or mixture thereof from the dried leaves of Centipede grass. The alcohol is C1-C4 alcohol. The radiation is gamma ray, electronic beam, UV, or X ray. The pigment is cyanidin-3-O-glucoside or malvidin-3-(6-acetoyl)glucoside.
