The invention relates to a floating platform and to a method for reducing the urban heating effects by using such a floating platform. The claimed platform comprises at least a box (2) containing vegetation with increased evapotranspiration potential, said box being mounted with one of its extremities to the bank of a flowing water channel, and having at its other end a float (3) which ensures the floatability, at the top of the float (3) there being provided a panel (7) with photovoltaic cells supplying with electrical energy a micromotor which drives a pump (5) submerged in the water of above-mentioned channel, the pump (5) discharging into the tank (9) playing a role in watering the vegetation in the box (2). The claimed method consists in hingedly mounting a floating platform to the concrete-lined bank of a river or flowing water channel, the platform comprising at least a box containing vegetation with increased evapotranspiration potential, the vegetation contained in the box being watered intensively by means of a water-submerged pump supplied with energy from a photovoltaic cell panel and finally the vegetation is ventilated with a stream of air provided by a fan supplied with energy from the same photovoltaic cell panel.Invenţia se referă la o platformă plutitoare şi la o metodă de reducere a efectelor de încălzire urbană, folosind o astfel de platformă.
