PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system capable of easily acquiring the kind of switched irradiation light that does not appear in images in the electronic endoscope system switching irradiation light to display a plurality of kinds of images.SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope system 10 is adapted to switch the kind of irradiation light by a color filter 35. In the electronic endoscope system 10, an image signal obtained in an electronic endoscope 20 is subjected to predetermined image processing by an image processing circuit to obtain an image 41 which is displayed on a monitor (display means) 40. A notification image 42 for notifying the kind of irradiation light is drawn on the image 41. The notification image 42 is superimposedly drawn on the image 41 by a drawing circuit 33. The kind of the switched irradiation light can be easily discriminated by looking at the notification image 42.
