PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire capable of maintaining the flexibility and resilience of a curved section around which a coil is arranged, and at the same time maintaining the push-in property and the torque transmission property.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 comprises: a long wire main body 10 having, at its tip end, a flexible curved section 25 having a curved longitudinal axis direction and a coil 4 which is formed by winding wires 411 spirally, and which is arranged around an outer periphery of at least the curved section 25 of the wire main body 10 to cover the curved section 25.
