The present invention aims at providing a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment and prevention of autoimmune diseases and treatment methods. Pharmaceutical compositions containing an expression inhibiting siRNA to CD98 heavy chain, we have found to be useful in the prevention or treatment of autoimmune diseases. As a result, it has become possible to provide a new method of treatment using said siRNA autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis as an autoimmune disease.本発明は、自己免疫疾患の治療・予防のための医薬組成物および治療法を提供することを目的とする。ＣＤ９８重鎖を発現抑制するｓｉＲＮＡを含有する医薬組成物が、自己免疫疾患の予防・治療に有用であることを見出した。その結果、自己免疫疾患として１型糖尿病や関節リウマチなどの自己免疫疾患に上記ｓｉＲＮＡを使用する新たな治療方法を提供できるようになった。
