The present invention relates to: a pharmaceutical composition, which can treat increase of growth plate thickness and decrease of bone density, caused by induction of menopause, and contains an extract of wood-cultivated ginseng as an active ingredient, for preventing or treating bone disease a food composition for preventing and alleviating bone disease and a method for preventing or treating bone disease by using the extract of wood-cultivated ginseng. The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention include the extract of wood-cultivated ginseng or fractions thereof and thus can alleviate symptoms such as increase of physeal plate thickness and decrease of bone density induced by menopause.
