The invention relates to an orthosis (1) to be placed on the hand of a user, including: a supporting member (2) having the general shape of a horse saddle and having an inner flange and an outer flange (4), to be placed at the thumb-index commissure with the inner flange against the palm and the outer wing against the back surface of the hand, in order to enable a spacing to be maintained between the thumb and the index finger a strap (3) to be placed around the hand and the supporting member (2), so as to retain said supporting member, and such that the metacarpal bone of the thumb is trapped inside orthosis (1) between strap (3) and supporting member (2).Lorthèse (1), destinée à être placée sur la main dun utilisateur, comprend: -un organe de maintien (2) présentant la forme générale dune selle de cheval, possédant une aile interne et une aile externe (4), destiné à être placé au niveau de la commissure pouce-index avec laile interne contre la paume et laile externe contre la face dorsale de la main, afin de permettre le maintien dun écartement entre le pouce et lindex -une sangle (3) destinée à être placée autour de la main et de lorgane de maintien (2), pour assurer la retenue de cet organe de maintien, et de sorte que los métacarpien du pouce soit emprisonné dans lorthèse (1) entre la sangle (3) et lorgane de maintien (2).
