The tracheotomy tube assembly 1 has a tube 1 and a flange assembly 2 movable along the device side end region 10 of the tube. The flange assembly has a screw clamp 36 that can be pressed to lock the flange assembly to a predetermined position by applying pressure to the outer surface of the tube. The device side end region of the tube has a non circular cross section extending along the axis 15 in which the screw clamp exerts force.In this way, when the screw clamp 36 is tightened and the flange assembly is locked to the predetermined position, the tube 1 in the clamp region is deformed to become a circular shape.
